Limelight (Student film - Siobhan Gannon and Eryk White)

For the sake of my lighting portfolio, I wanted to include a few edited pictures from my capstone film, Limelight. This was a group project created with my friend Siobhan Gannon, who took the lead on character design and animation while I focused on environment construction and sound. Lighting was a shared responsibility for this film (since it was an aspect of the 3D pipeline that we both enjoyed!) but included above are some shots that I took the lead on as well as a link to the film.

I had a lot of fun lighting some of the wider shots that showed off the environment. We used emissive materials for the "prizes" sign along with lots of spotlights to highlight Nicky's presence.

This shot showed the broken down studio, and as such, featured lots of dust, fog, and dim lighting.

This shot at the end was meant to highlight Nick'y big decision between entering the real world (i.e. the exit door) or living in the past (the prizes door). The yellow glowing light was meant to highlight his decision!

Our group capstone film, Limelight! Thank you to Siobhan Gannon for being a fantastic co-creator on this project!
